Casarecce are a smooth pasta shape rolled up on itself. Originating from southern Italy, Caserecce have the right thickness and high porosity, which allows the seasoning to be bound to perfection. It is a type of pasta that is versatile and easy to combine. In fact, they are excellent prepared with sauces based on vegetables, ricotta, meat or fish. The name evokes the ancient home-made origin, an interpretation of the \"busiata\" pasta of Arab origin obtained with the \"bus\", the thin cane of a plant with which the pieces of dough were once wrapped.
